Guide

Apparel Size Chart Guide

How garment sizing works, what a point-of-measure spec is, and how to build a size chart your factory can grade from.

01Body vs garment measurements

Body measurements describe the wearer; garment measurements describe the finished piece (with ease added). Your tech pack should specify garment measurements at each point of measure.

02Points of measure

Common POMs include chest width, body length, shoulder, sleeve length, neck opening and hem. Each is measured flat and listed per size in your spec sheet.

03Grading

Grading scales a base size up and down by set increments (e.g. 2 cm chest per size). We grade from your approved base sample to build the full range.

04Tolerance

Every measurement has an allowed tolerance (e.g. ±1 cm). Garments are inspected against the spec within tolerance before shipment.
